Andrew Curtis

Bio

Andrew qualified from Cardiff in 1996 and joined the practice in 2000 when it was located in Park Road. In 2004 he became a partner and relocated the practice to its current Castle View location.

Andrew enjoys all aspects of general practice, particularly being the “family dentist”. He has an interest in training newly qualified dentists and has been appointed as an educational supervisor since 2009 mentoring foundation dentists.

In his spare time Andrew enjoys running a small farm, singing in an acapella group and taking part in many outdoor pursuits with his family.

Jeremy Lenaerts

Bio

Jeremy joined the Castle View team in 2012 and became a partner in 2017. Prior to studying dentistry, he worked in scientific research where he gained a PhD in microbiology. He enjoys all aspects of general dentistry but has a particular interest in minimally invasive aesthetic dentistry (improving peoples’ smiles whilst causing minimal damage to the teeth). Jeremy has been an Invisalign provider since 2018, was awared ‘Case of the Month’ in February 2023 from the ‘Aligner Dental Academy’ (for one of his Invisalign treatments) and holds a post-graduate diploma in Clear Aligner Therapy (2023). He has also undergone further training in composite bonding.

Outside of work he enjoys spending time with his young family, especially in the great outdoors.

Hannah Smyth

Bio

Hannah qualified from Queens University Belfast in June 2021 and moved to Devon shortly thereafter. She enjoys all aspects of general dentistry with a particular interest in treating children.

When not at work, she enjoys paddle boarding, playing hockey, going to the gym and socialising with her friends.

Nat Chambers

Bio

Nat graduated from Glasgow University in 1996 and has worked in Mid-Devon ever since, joining Castle View in 2015. When not at work he enjoys walking with his family and dogs, and watching his sons play sport. He also has a wide range of interests including reading, film photography, woodworking, watching cricket and brewing (& drinking) beer.

Rebecca Humphrey

Bio

Before starting her dental career, Rebecca completed a BSc in Medical Science at the University of Exeter where she worked across a variety of roles from laboratory-based practice to clinical trial management. She now enjoys a wide range of areas across the dental field and loves to work within general practice.

Outside of dentistry, Rebecca will most likely be found walking her dogs and exploring new places.

Amelia Jerreat

Bio

Amelia qualified in 1997 from the University of Bristol, and subsequently developed a particular interest in orthodontics. She completed her orthodontic training in London during 2003 and now works as a consultant orthodontist at both the Royal Devon & Exeter and North Devon Districthospitals.

She joined the Castle View team in 2021 and provides a full range of orthodontic procedures.

Amelia lives in Devon with her family, cats, a dog and hens. She likes running, keeping fit and long dog walks.

Nicola Thorne

Bio

Nicola joined Castle View Dental Practice in March 2020.  Nicola previously worked for many years in the NHS and at North Devon District Hospital as Workforce Manager in Unscheduled Care.Nicola completed the NHS Leadership in Frontline Talent Program from Bristol UWE as well as completing her Diploma in Management with the Institute of Leadership and Management.

Nicola is extremely proud of Castle View and the dedicated team of staff that delivers the excellent customer service that patients deserve and are accustomed to.

In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her family and friends, riding her horses, and running with her sprocker spaniel.

Kayleigh Clarke

Bio

Kayleigh started dental nursing in 2005 and in 2007 completed her NVQ L3 Oral Health Care: Dental Nursing & Independent Assessment City & Guilds. She joined the practice in 2017 and now works mainly as Practice Administrator but continues to nurse one day a week.

Kayleigh spends most of her spare time running around after her 2 children and she loves to get away on mini breaks with her family and friends.

Aimee Alford

Aimee joined the practice in 2017 as a receptionist, with previous experience of dental nursing and reception duties, she now job shares with Kayleigh as Practice Administrator.

In her spare time, Aimee enjoys going to the gym, reading and spending time with her family & friends.

Karen Bowden

Bio

Karen started her career as a dental nurse and receptionist before training to be a Dental Hygienist and Therapist. Karen is passionate about her job and takes immense pride in her work, committed at all times to providing caring and excellent treatment to her patients.

She loves building a strong rapport with her patients, getting to know them and helping them to improve their oral health. She especially enjoys treating nervous patients and helping them to overcome their anxieties; always trying to make treatment as comfortable as possible.

In 2017, Karen also started working at the Peninsula Dental School as a clinical supervisor on the paediatric dental clinic.

 

When not at work, Karen enjoys spending time with her friends and family, walking, going to gigs, Pilates and sightseeing.

Helen Clewley

Bio

Having been a general dental nurse since 2002. Helen has a keen interest in the dental sciences, and passed my certificate in dental radiography in February 2014. Never one to sit still for long, she then qualified as an orthodontic therapist in October 2015 on the Leeds programme affiliated to the Royal College of Surgeons.

In my spare time I am always busy, juggling a hectic working life with my family, keeping fit and my hobbies making cakes and sea glass jewellery. 

Mary Annette Jimmy

Bio

After acquiring her dental degree from India, Mary moved to UK in 2009. She obtained her Dental Therapist registration with General Dental Council in 2018. She joined Castle View Dental Practice in 2020 and has been carrying out the hygiene duties since then. She is highly committed and passionate about dentistry, and very keen in providing a quality service to her patients.

Outside of work she enjoys gardening, cooking and travelling.

Jackie Willis

Bio

Jackie started dental nursing in 2002 and qualified with the national certificate NEBDN in 2004 and joined Castle View the same year. Jackie enjoys working with the foundation dentist’s and helping them at the start of their dentistry careers. Working with the orthodontist, Jackie finds this gives her a different aspect to nursing and gets to see the amazing results at the end of treatments.

In her spare time, Jackie likes countryside walks, cycling, holidays and spending time with her family.

Michelle Barrow

Bio

Michelle began dental nursing in 1994 and gained her qualification from National Examining Board for Dental Nurses in 1996. She also has the British Dental Association qualification in Dental Radiography. Michelle also nurses for our orthodontist as well as helping out on reception.

Outside of work Michelle enjoys football and is club secretary for a local youth football club.

Nadia Parkins

Bio

Nadia joined the practice in 2009 as a trainee dental nurse and gained her qualification from the National Examining Board for Dental Nurses in 2011. She particularly enjoys nursing for any oral surgery procedures and also helps run reception.

Outside of work, Nadia keeps herself fit enjoying running, Pilates and walking her dog.

Bio

Laura started dental nursing in 2003. She gained her qualification from City and Guilds in 2006 and went on to qualify in Dental Radiography in 2009. She joined Castle View in 2016 as part of the nursing and reception team.  Laura enjoys all aspects  of dentistry but has a keen interest in periodontal treatment.

Outside of work, Laura enjoys kayaking with her husband and two children and lots of outdoor family adventures with their dogs.

Michelle Hill

Michelle qualified as a dental nurse in 2005.  She has been working as part of Castle Views great team for the last 16 years and enjoys the variety of day to day dentistry.

When not at work, Michelle enjoys spending time with all her family and friends.

Jo Galpin

Marie Chambers

Bio

Previous to Castle View, Marie worked many years for an eminent local Dentist.  As a qualified Dental Nurse, Marie became involved in many of his new practice ventures, including Honiton, Cullompton and Taunton. 

For five of those years, Marie was lead nurse for an implant specialist.  Marie gained a qualification as a conscious sedation Dental Nurse at Bristol Hospital in 2001

Polly Delainey

Polly has been at Castle View since 2010, and trained with the practice qualifying as a dental nurse in 2011. She particularly enjoys assisting with dental emergencies and oral surgery.

Leesha Mercy

Leesha gained her qualification from the National Examination board for dental nurses(NEBDN) in 2010.  She loves nursing, particularly meeting patients and helping to make them feel comfortable in the dental setting.

Outside of work Leesha enjoys reading ,eating chocolate and spending as much time as possible with her big (very noisy) family.

Kathryn started nursing in 2008 & qualified with the NEBDN IN 2010. She completed an implant course with Straumann in 2011 & has recently qualified in dental Radiology in 2022.
